The opening features hyssop and myrtle – clean, herbal notes with a slightly resinous character. It feels fresh, bright, and somewhat ritualistic, exactly as described in the fragrance's official text. In the middle notes, the fragrance develops into a dry, spicy heart composed of cardamom, carrot seeds, and iris. Cardamom brings warm spiciness, carrot seeds an earthy dryness, and iris a delicate powdery depth. This phase is characteristic of 109 – it feels calm, stable, and very "grounded." The base consists of cypriol, sandalwood, musk, and leather. Cypriol adds a smoky-earthy note, sandalwood brings creamy woodiness, musk purity, and leather a delicate, soft animality.
